WINNING THE INNER WAR (PART 2)
KEY TEXT: Romans 7:23 (KJV): “But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.”

THE REALITY OF THE INNER STRUGGLE: The inner war is a reality every believer must acknowledge. Salvation does not eliminate conflict; it introduces a new kind of battle. The flesh resists spiritual growth, while the Spirit calls the believer higher. Many Christians become discouraged because they experience inner resistance after salvation, not realizing that this struggle is proof of spiritual life, not failure. Recognizing this reality prevents condemnation and positions the believer for victory. (Galatians 5:17; James 1:14)
THE DANGER OF LOSING THE INNER WAR: When the inner war is consistently lost, it results in instability, repeated sin, spiritual dryness, and weakened authority. A believer may appear active outwardly yet remain defeated inwardly. Scripture warns that an unruled spirit leads to captivity and inconsistency. Losing inwardly eventually affects decisions, relationships, and destiny. Therefore, the inner war must be confronted intentionally and spiritually.
(Proverbs 25:28; James 1:8)
THE POWER OF GRACE IN INNER VICTORY: Winning the inner war is not by self-effort but by grace. God’s grace empowers the believer to say no to ungodliness and yes to righteousness. When grace is embraced, condemnation is silenced, and spiritual strength is restored. Grace does not excuse weakness; it supplies power to overcome it. A grace-conscious believer walks in liberty and dominion over inward struggles. (Titus 2:11–12; Romans 6:14)
PRAYER:
Father, I thank You for Your grace that empowers me to overcome every inward struggle. I reject condemnation and receive strength to rule over my spirit. By Your grace, I will not be brought into captivity by the flesh, but I will walk in liberty and victory, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
REFLECTION:
Proverbs 25:28 (KJV) — “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.”
