TITLE: WATCH AND PRAY

KEY TEXT: Matthew 26:41 KJV: “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

When it was time for the Lord Jesus Christ to suffer, when He was about to be taken away from this earth, He taught the disciples what He never taught them before, and told them there was something they ought to do: watch and pray. Sister, brother, it is time to wake up. Because what is about to happen is going to be sudden. When Satan wants to deal with somebody, he does it suddenly. Everything that happens from the realm of the spirit is a sudden thing. MATTHEW 24:43

That is why you must be awake all the time. The Lord is ready to wake us up, to empower us if we are ready to follow Him. Watch and pray; do not only watch alone. On the other hand, if you are praying, and not watching, you will be foolish. Even in your prayer, you will be held bound. There are some people who are so prayerful, but they are still demonized. With all their prayer and fasting, they are still passing through what they are going through. COLOSSIANS 4:2

Why? Because they are only praying and not watching. Some people are so watchful, but prayerless. The devil knows those who are watching and not praying, and praying and not watching. That is why the Lord said to us to pray all the time. The Bible says of Deborah to awake. She could not conquer the enemy while sleeping. JUDGES 5:12

PRAYER: Wherever I have been sleeping, please wake me up, O God, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Ephesians 6:18 KJV: “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”
