WALKING IN VICTORY OVER SIN AND FLESH
KEY TEXT: Galatians 5:16 KJV – “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
THE POWER OF GRACE IN CHRIST: No man can overcome sin and flesh by willpower alone. Victory is found only in Jesus Christ, who destroyed the power of sin on the cross (Romans 6:6). By grace, the believer is empowered to say “No” to sin and to live righteously in this present world (Titus 2:11–12). The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now dwells in us, enabling us to walk in newness of life.
THE SECRET OF DAILY VICTORY: To overcome the flesh, the believer must feed the spirit man more than the flesh. Constant prayer, Bible study, and fellowship with God will starve the flesh and strengthen the inner man. Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Without daily renewal, the flesh will rise again. Victory is sustained by constant submission to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
THE REWARD OF OVERCOMING: Those who crucify the flesh and walk in the Spirit will inherit eternal life. They will have power over sin, peace with God, and joy in the Holy Ghost. To walk in victory is to shine as a light in this dark world, showing others the way of Christ. Revelation 3:5 assures: “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life.”
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus Christ, I receive the grace to walk daily in victory over sin and flesh. Help me to live in the Spirit until I see You face to face, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

Romans 8:1 KJV – “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
