WALK NOT LIKE THE WORLD (PART 6)

KEY TEXT: 1 John 5:4 KJV — “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

LIVING ABOVE THE INFLUENCE OF THE WORLD: Every child of God is called to live victoriously above the world’s systems and influences. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and faith in Jesus Christ, we are equipped to overcome sin, temptation, and worldly lusts. The world seeks to drag us down with its false promises and pleasures, but those who remain in Christ rise above its pull. To live above the world is to live in obedience, purity, and total dependence on God’s Word, knowing that our citizenship is in heaven and not on earth. Philippians 3:20

FAITH — THE BELIEVER’S WEAPON OF VICTORY:

The key to overcoming the world is faith. Faith keeps the believer rooted in God’s promises even when worldly pressures rise. It is faith that empowers us to say “no” to sin and “yes” to God. A faithless believer will always fall for the world’s attractions, but a faith-filled believer sees beyond temporary pleasures and chooses eternal glory. Our faith connects us to divine power that makes us untouchable to the world’s corruption. John 16:33

THE REWARD OF WALKING DIFFERENTLY:

There is an eternal reward for those who refuse to walk like the world. The crown of life awaits all who remain faithful to the end. Though the world may mock your holiness, God will honor your obedience. Living differently might cost you friends, opportunities, or acceptance, but it secures your place in God’s kingdom. Remember, heaven is not for those who followed the crowd, but for those who followed Christ to the end. Matthew 24:44

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus Christ, give me the strength and faith to live above the influence of this world. Let nothing in this world be strong enough to separate me from Your love and truth, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Colossians 3:1-2 KJV — “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord Jesus Christ, empower me to overcome every worldly temptation through the power of faith, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

2. Father, Lord, strengthen me to stand firm against the pressures and enticements of the world, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

3. Holy Spirit, help me to keep my heart focused on heavenly treasures, not earthly gain in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

4. My Father and my God, let my life continually reflect the victory of Christ over the world, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

5. O Lord my God, grant me grace to remain faithful till the end, no matter what it costs in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
