WALK NOT LIKE THE WORLD (PART 5)

KEY TEXT: Ephesians 5:8 KJV — “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.”

WALKING IN THE LIGHT OF GOD’S STANDARD: To walk in the light is to live by God’s truth and righteousness in a world filled with deception and sin. Every believer has been called out of darkness into the marvellous light of Christ. This new life demands that we no longer walk according to the lusts, customs, and desires of the world. The world celebrates vanity, but the light of Christ reveals eternal values. As children of light, we must let our lives expose darkness, not blend with it. Our walk should testify that we belong to Jesus Christ and not the system of the world. John 14:15

THE FRUIT OF LIGHT: When we walk in the light, we naturally bear fruits that glorify God. These are purity, truth, humility, and love. Darkness cannot produce these fruits; it only brings corruption and deceit. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live as sons and daughters who reflect the nature of their Father. If we truly belong to the light, then our speech, relationships, and conduct must reveal the character of Christ. The more we yield to the Spirit, the brighter our light will shine in this generation. Ephesians 4:22

SHINING AS LIGHTS IN A DARK WORLD: The world is getting darker each day, morally, spiritually, and socially, yet, God has chosen His people to be beacons of hope and holiness. We must not hide our light to please men or avoid persecution. A true light stands out even in the darkest night. You may be the only Bible your community or family ever reads, so let your light speak louder than words. Remember, darkness only dominates where light refuses to shine. 1 John 2:6

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus Christ, help me to walk daily in Your light. Let my life reveal Your truth and righteousness in this dark world. Empower me to shine boldly for You until the end, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Matthew 5:16 KJV — “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord Jesus Christ, make me a true light that shines in this dark world in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

2. Father, Lord, remove every trace of darkness that seeks to dim my spiritual light in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

3. Holy Spirit, empower me to live by God’s standard in speech, conduct, and character in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

4. My Father and my God, let my life continually reveal Your truth and righteousness in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

5. O Lord my God, help me to never conform to darkness but to overcome it through Your light in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
