THE VIRTUE OF PERSEVERANCE
KEY TEXT: HEBREWS 10:36 KJV: “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”

Perseverance is the steadfastness and determination to continue pursuing a goal despite obstacles, delays, or discouragements. It is a vital virtue that distinguishes those who achieve their purpose from those who give up prematurely. Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. (HEBREWS 12:1)
Throughout the Bible, perseverance is emphasized as a crucial characteristic for believers. It involves enduring hardships, resisting temptation, and remaining faithful to God's promises. Perseverance is not about personal strength alone but is empowered by God's grace and Spirit. “We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” (ROMANS 5:3-4)
CALL TO ACTION:
Perseverance requires patience, faith, and a deep trust in God's timing and plan. It means pressing on even when the outcome is not yet visible. By persevering, we demonstrate our commitment to God's will and allow His promises to be fulfilled in our lives. “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” (JAMES 1:12)
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus Christ, grant me the virtue of perseverance to endure trials and tribulations, and to remain steadfast in my faith, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
REFLECTION:
