TITLE: THE VIRTUE OF DILIGENCE 

KEY TEXT: 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Diligence is a virtue highly esteemed in the Scriptures. It is often associated with a commitment to doing one''s best and working steadfastly. Proverbs 12:24 states, “The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.” This highlights that diligent efforts lead to leadership and rewards, while laziness results in subjugation.

The importance of diligence is further emphasized in Proverbs 10:4: “He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.” This verse underlines that diligence in one''s work is a pathway to prosperity and leads to PROVERBS 22:29 and vice versa. 

In Ecclesiastes 9:10, the Bible instructs, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.” This calls for wholehearted commitment to every task, demonstrating that diligence involves putting one''s full energy and effort into their work. COLOSSIANS 3:23

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, deliver me from the spirit of laziness and help me to be diligent in all that I do, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Proverbs 22:29 KJV: “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”
