KEY TEXT: 1 TIMOTHY 4:8 KJV: “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come."

We labor and toil for years, striving to build a legacy or amass wealth, yet in the end, we leave it all behind. What good is all our hard work if it cannot follow us beyond the grave? "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out" 1 (TIMOTHY 6:7).

Life is often filled with troubles and hardships, and even in times of joy, there is a reminder that sorrow is not far away. Our days are brief and unpredictable, like a passing shadow. "For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away" (JAMES 4:14).

Man''s ambitions are like chasing the wind. We seek satisfaction in material things or worldly success, but these are as elusive as the air itself. Solomon realized this and said, "Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun" (ECCLESIASTES 2:11).

PRAYER: O Lord my God, please grant me the grace to put my salvation and eternal place in heaven above everything on earth, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Ecclesiastes 5:10 KJV: "He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity."
