THE TRUTH SAVES
KEY TEXT: Proverbs 23:23 KJV: "Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding."
REVEAL THE TRUTH: The Bible tells us to "buy the truth and sell it not" (Proverbs 23:23), referring to how precious the truth is to the soul of a man. Unfortunately, truth is a scarce resource in the church today. The painful but necessary truth that the Word of God has instructed us to receive has been hidden from God''s children, because those who were meant to be the messengers of the truth have rejected it in pursuit of prosperity. Matthew 7:15-20
SELECTIVE TRUTH: You must be active and deliberate in receiving the truth. It is easy for one to listen to and accept false doctrines and commands. Some fall victim to the folly of selective hearing. They selectively listen to truths that make them wealthy or emotionally happy, but truths that prick and convict them of specific sins are ignored and overlooked. There are those who do not want to know the full and complete truth for fear that it will reveal their sins. The truth will save you, and the truth will set you free. John 9:41
SEEK OUT THE TRUTH FOR YOURSELF: In a world full of lies, will you stand for the truth? Will you stand and proclaim the very truth that has saved you, even unto death? Arm yourself with the truth of the Scripture, for many souls have missed the way to eternal life due to the deceit and cunning craftiness of men who instructed them otherwise. Seek the true and undiluted truth daily. John 14:6
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, give me a heart to love the truth and rejoice in that which is right. May my attitude towards correction of sin not be one of offense, but of gladness and acceptance. In Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.
