THE SIGNIFICANCE OF UNITY (PART 4)

KEY TEXT: ROMANS 14:19 KJV: Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

UNITY REQUIRES SACRIFICE: Unity often demands personal sacrifice for the greater good. Jesus exemplified this by laying down His life for us. He said, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (JOHN 15:13). Sacrificing personal preferences fosters deeper bonds among believers.

UNITY AS A WITNESS: The unity of believers serves as a powerful witness to the world. Jesus declared, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another" (JOHN 13:35). When we walk in unity, we demonstrate God’s love and draw others to Him.

ETERNAL UNITY IN HEAVEN: Finally, unity will find its ultimate fulfillment in eternity, where believers from every nation, tribe, and tongue will worship together before God’s throne. John describes this vision: "After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb" (REVELATION 7:9). This eternal unity is our ultimate hope and goal.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, grant all your children in the body of Christ, the grace for sacrificial love, that everyone might be bonded in love as we strive to enter your kingdom where unity is perfected in love, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: ROMANS  12:16 KJV: “Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.”
