THE POWER OF COMPASSION (PART 4)
KEY TEXT: Proverbs 19:17 KJV – “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”

Compassion is the heartbeat of true giving. When we see the needs of others and are moved to help, it is compassion that drives our generosity. Compassionate giving is not about abundance but about love—sharing what we have, no matter how little, to ease another’s pain. Acts 20:35
Jesus demonstrated this in feeding the multitude. He was moved with compassion for those who had followed Him for days without food, and out of that compassion came the miracle of provision (Matthew 15:32-37). Compassion turns what looks small in our hands into a blessing that multiplies to meet great needs.
Beloved in Christ, compassion is not just giving money or material things; it is also giving time, attention, prayers, and support to those in distress. Many people around us are suffering silently, longing for a compassionate touch, a kind word, or a little assistance. James 2:15-16
When we show compassion to the needy, we are lending to God Himself, and He will surely reward us. Every act of compassion is recorded in heaven as an eternal investment. Let us therefore resist selfishness and hardness of heart, for a life void of compassion is empty of true love. 1 John 3:17
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to live a life of compassionate giving. May I never turn away from those in need, but reflect Your love through my actions, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
REFLECTION:
Hebrews 13:16 KJV – “But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
