THE OVERCOMER’S LIFE IN CHRIST (Part 2)
KEY TEXT: James 4:7 KJV – “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
RESISTING THE DEVIL: The life of an overcomer is a life of authority over the devil. Satan can only gain ground where there is ignorance or compromise. Scripture makes it clear: submission to God is the key to resisting the devil. A life surrendered to God is empowered to say “No” to Satan’s tricks. "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17
The devil fears those who know their authority in Christ. Jesus overcame Satan in the wilderness not with arguments, but with the Word of God. Likewise, every believer must resist him with prayer, the Word, and holiness. Yielding to temptation only gives him room, but resistance forces him to flee.
Beloved, do not entertain the devil’s lies. Resist him boldly in the name of Jesus Christ, and you will walk in daily victory.
PRAYER:
O Lord, empower me to resist the devil at every point of temptation. Let me live in full submission to You, and may Satan never prevail over me, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
