THE JUDGMENT OF GOD (PART 4)
KEY TEXT: ROMANS 2:5 KJV: “But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.”

JUDGMENT AS A CALL TO RIGHTEOUSNESS: God’s judgment serves as a powerful reminder for believers to live in holiness and obedience. The apostle Peter admonishes, "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God… " (1 PETER 4:17 KJV). This call to righteousness highlights the importance of aligning our lives with God’s Word and will. ACTS 17:30
MERCY IN THE MIDST OF JUDGMENT: Even in the midst of judgment, God extends mercy to those who turn to Him. The story of Nineveh’s repentance under Jonah’s preaching demonstrates this truth. Scripture records: "And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not" (JONAH 3:10 KJV). God’s mercy is always available to the contrite heart.
THE ETERNAL NATURE OF GOD'S JUDGMENT: God’s judgment has eternal consequences, determining the destiny of souls in either eternal life or eternal punishment. Jesus warns, "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal” (MATTHEW 25:46 KJV). This underscores the importance of preparing for eternity by seeking God’s grace and forgiveness. JOEL 2:1
PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, I repent of all my past sins and wrong doings. Have mercy and forgive me, and grant me the grace to go and sin no more, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
REFLECTION: ACTS 17:30 KJV: “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.”
