THE IMPORTANCE OF UNITY (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: ROMANS 12:16 KJV: “Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.”

UNITY IN FORGIVENESS: Forgiveness is essential for maintaining unity, as offenses will inevitably arise. Jesus reminds us of the importance of forgiveness: "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you" (MATTHEW 6:14). Reconciliation strengthens the bonds of unity.

UNITY IN PEACE: Peace is both a fruit and a foundation of unity. Paul urges, "Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (EPHESIANS 4:3). As believers, we are called to be peacemakers, actively working to resolve conflicts and foster harmony.

 UNITY IN PURPOSE: The Church’s mission to spread the Gospel demands unity. Jesus prayed for His followers, "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me" (JOHN 17:21). Unity testifies to the truth of the Gospel.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, give your children the heart that forgives easily and hearts void of offense that there may be unity amongst the brethren, in Jesus Christ''s mighty name. Amen.
