THE IMPORTANCE OF LAUGHTER IN A BELIEVER'S LIFE (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: ROMANS 15:13

The ability to laugh at ourselves is also a gift, helping us to stay humble and grounded. God calls us to humility, and laughter can often be the antidote to pride, allowing us to accept our own imperfections. "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." (Proverbs 16:18)

Through laughter, we often see God’s sense of humor woven into the fabric of creation. From the playful behaviors of animals to the quirks of human nature, God’s creation is filled with moments that can make us smile and laugh. "For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills." (Psalm 50:10)

In times of sorrow, laughter can be a form of resilience and hope. It does not deny pain but acknowledges that God’s joy is deeper and will outlast our sorrow. "For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." (Psalm 30:5)

PRAYER: O Lord my God, grant me the grace to find reason to laugh in every situation, trusting you to bring solution, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: ROMANS 12:12 KJV: “Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.”
