TITLE: THE GREATEST SPIRIT, THE HOLY SPIRIT

KEY TEXT: Luke 4:1 KJV: “And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.”

JESUS AND THE SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit was intimately connected with Jesus throughout His entire earthly life. Although Christ is fully God, He chose to walk in perfect unity with the Holy Spirit to carry out His ministry, perform miracles, and reveal the Kingdom of God to His disciples and the world. This same Holy Spirit, who empowered Jesus, has now been freely and abundantly poured out upon all who believe in Him, enabling us to live holy and righteous lives and to walk in His power. John 16:7

THE GREATEST SPIRIT: We, as children of God, have been blessed with the Holy Spirit, the greatest of all spirits. Yet, many believers fail to fully activate and utilize this incredible gift, and at times, we even find ourselves oppressed by the lesser spirits of the world. But when we truly grasp the truth that the Holy Spirit within us is far greater than any power of darkness—whether assemblies of witches, wizards, or any other forces—we will no longer live in fear. Acts 16:16-18; 1 John 4:4

FUNCTIONS OF THE SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit empowers us (Acts 1:8), gives us the words to speak (Acts 2:4), and convicts the world of sin (John 16:8). He teaches us all things (John 14:26) and guides us into all truth (John 16:13).  Indwells within us (1 Corinthians 3:16), and produces in us the fruit of the Spirit, enabling us to live in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—the very character of Christ as He walked on earth. Galatians 5:22-23

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, guide me to be continually led by the Holy Spirit, that I may walk in Your power and anointing in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: John 20:22 KJV: “And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost.”
