THE ENEMIES OF YOUR FAITH (PART 2)
KEY TEXT: 1 Corinthians 1:23 KJV: “But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness.”

You can never come to the realization of the truth or accept Jesus Christ with the wisdom of the world. We read in the Scriptures that the Jews required a sign, and the Greeks sought for wisdom to unravel the mysteries of the word of God as they were great philosophers. They tried to reason how one person could die for the entire world and claim He is the only way that leads to everlasting life. 1 Corinthians 1:22
This conflict on who Christ was, (the Way, Truth and Life) was so much in the churches in Corinth that is why Apostle Paul laid more emphasis on the wisdom of God rather than human wisdom. He emphasized that his preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. 1 Corinthians 2:4
Apostle Paul once dwelt on human wisdom resulting in his destruction of the body of Christ, but when God arrested him and he became a changed man, he began to reason from the same point of view where Peter and the rest of the apostles were reasoning from. God delivered him from the same worldliness and carnality that engulfed the Jews that made them not to accept the redemption on the cross of Calvary. Acts 22:18-21
PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, deliver me from the carnal spirit that makes me to always seek a sign from you instead of simply believing you, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
REFLECTION: James 3:17 KJV: “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”
