THE ENEMIES OF YOUR FAITH
KEY TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 1:17 KJV: “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.”
The enemies of our faith are logic and reasoning. If you study the Word of God you will discover that everything that God has done has always defied human reasoning and logic. That is why the Bible lets us know that the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God. The reason you hardly see well-educated people being born again, is because their human reasoning is based on the wisdom of the world, not on the Word of God. 1 CORINTHIANS 1:20
Our faith is not built on human reasoning, made up of craftiness that leads to everlasting doom and destruction. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God, not human wisdom, logic, or reasoning. 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” In other words, everything you do in this present life as a believer should be done with faith based on the word of God. HEBREWS 11:3
Apostle Paul states, “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved, it is the power of God.” Brethren, the resurrection and redemption that took place on the cross, is foolishness to those that have been enveloped with the wisdom of the world. So for you to be rooted and grounded in your spiritual race, you must search the Scriptures so that you will not slip away from His presence. 1 CORINTHIANS 1:18
PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, search my heart, in any way my faith is based on human wisdom and not on Your Word. Forgive and purge me, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
REFLECTION: 1 CORINTHIANS 2:7 KJV: “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory.”
