TITLE: THE BLESSEDNESS OF ENDURANCE (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: Romans 15:4 KJV: “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”

Paul, in his second letter to Timothy, exhorts his young soldier of Christ to endure: "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." (2 Timothy 2:3). This metaphor of a soldier reminds us that the Christian life is a battle that requires resilience and the ability to withstand hardships without losing faith. ROMANS 5:3-4

In the Old Testament, the endurance of Job is legendary. James 5:11 states, "Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy." Job''s story reassures us that God’s compassion and mercy are ultimately revealed through our trials. JOB 1:20-22

Endurance is not only about personal fortitude but also about relying on God''s strength. Isaiah 40:31 promises, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." This verse encourages believers and followers of Christ to depend on God for renewed strength to endure in any situation. PROVERBS 3:5-6

PRAYER: I receive the enduring grace to overcome in every situation, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: Romans 8:28 KJV: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
