SHINING THE LIGHT OF HONOUR (PART 7)
KEY TEXT: Proverbs 15:33 KJV — “The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.”

HUMILITY IS THE ROAD TO TRUE HONOUR:
In God’s kingdom, honour is never achieved through pride but through humility. The way up is always down. Humility is the attitude of a heart that recognizes God as the Source of all greatness and gives Him all the glory. Pride is the foundation of every downfall, but humility brings divine promotion. The Word of God says, “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time” (1 Peter 5:6 KJV). When a man humbles himself before God and others, heaven marks him for elevation and lasting honour.
PRIDE EXTINGUISHES THE LIGHT OF HONOUR:
Nothing dims the light of honour faster than pride. It was pride that turned Lucifer into Satan, and it was humility that kept Jesus exalted even unto death. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). Pride blinds a believer from correction and isolates them from divine help. But a humble spirit attracts favour, wisdom, and open doors. A humble man listens, learns, and grows. Such a person becomes a vessel that God can trust with power and glory. Every act of humility strengthens your light of honour before God and man.
HUMILITY REFLECTS THE NATURE OF CHRIST:
Jesus Christ is the perfect model of humility. Though He was equal with God, He made Himself of no reputation and took the form of a servant (Philippians 2:5–9). Because of His humility, God highly exalted Him and gave Him a name above every other name. When you humble yourself in service, in speech, and in your attitude toward others, you carry the fragrance of Christ. True humility doesn’t reduce you—it refines you and positions you for divine lifting. Every believer who desires to shine the light of honour must first learn to walk in the spirit of humility.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, teach me to walk in humility as You did. Deliver me from the spirit of pride and self-exaltation. Help me to remain lowly in heart so that I may continually walk in Your light of honour, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
REFLECTION:
James 4:10 KJV — “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
