SHINING THE LIGHT OF HONOUR (PART 6)

KEY TEXT: 1 John 4:7–8 KJV — “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

LOVE IS THE ESSENCE OF DIVINE LIGHT: Love is the nature of God and the heartbeat of true honour. Every believer who walks in love reflects the personality of Christ, who is the Light of the world. To walk in love is to walk in the light; and to hate is to dwell in darkness. The absence of love makes a believer’s light go dim, no matter how gifted or prayerful they may be. Love makes your light visible and your life admirable before men. When you love, you are manifesting God’s very character and spreading His glory to those around you. PSALMS 36:9

LOVE MAKES YOUR LIFE A BEACON OF HONOUR: Love beautifies the life of a believer and makes divine honour visible. According to John 13:35 KJV, Jesus said, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” Love identifies you as a true disciple of Christ. When you love sincerely and forgive easily, people see the light of God in you. Love softens hearts, heals wounds, restores relationships, and glorifies God. It is impossible to shine the light of honour while harbouring bitterness or resentment. Love exalts you and causes others to honour the God you serve.

LOVE IS THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT: The entire law of God is fulfilled in love. Matthew 22:37–39 KJV says, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart… and thy neighbour as thyself.” Love for God produces obedience, and love for people produces compassion. When love governs your actions, honour follows automatically. Love makes your service genuine, your giving sacrificial, and your character Christlike. Every act of love is a spark of divine light in a dark world. Therefore, let your heart be ruled by love, and your life will shine with unending honour. EPHESIANS 5:8

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, fill my heart with Your perfect love. Remove every trace of hatred, bitterness, or unforgiveness in me. Let my life radiate Your love and light wherever I go, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Romans 13:10 KJV — “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.”

PRAYER POINTS

1. My Father and my God, baptize me with Your perfect love that casts out all fear, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

2. Lord Jesus, help me to love genuinely and forgive easily, that my light of honour may shine continually, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

3. O Lord, deliver me from every root of bitterness and hatred that dims the light of Your glory in my life, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

4. Father, let Your love in me draw many souls to the light of salvation, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
