SHINING THE LIGHT OF HONOUR (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: John 8:12 KJV — “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

CHRIST IS THE SOURCE OF TRUE LIGHT: Every genuine believer must understand that honour and divine light cannot exist apart from Jesus Christ. He alone is the Light of the world, and those who follow Him are delivered from the darkness of sin and confusion. Without Christ, human effort, wisdom, or moral strength cannot produce lasting light. When a believer abides in Christ, His life and nature become the illumination that drives away every form of darkness. Christ does not just give light, He is the Light, and walking with Him means living in continuous revelation and direction. 1 JOHN 1:5

THE LIGHT OF CHRIST BRINGS HONOUR AND DISTINCTION:

When Christ’s light fills a person, it separates them from shame and disgrace. Honour naturally follows those who walk closely with the Master because His glory overshadows their lives. Psalm 84:11 KJV says, “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” The light of Christ restores dignity where sin brought reproach. It lifts the humble, guides the faithful, and gives divine relevance to those who walk in obedience.

THE SECRET TO SUSTAINING THIS LIGHT:

To keep shining the light of honour, one must remain connected to the Source. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit apart from the vine (John 15:5), so also no believer can sustain divine light without daily communion with Christ through prayer and the Word. When the relationship with Christ grows cold, the light begins to fade. Stay in His presence, follow His Word, and obey His voice — that is the secret of shining brightly. Those who walk with Christ continually carry His light of honour wherever they go. 1 PETER 2:9

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus Christ, You are the Light of the world and the Source of my honour. Keep me connected to You always. Deliver me from anything that separates me from Your presence, and let Your light shine through me to glorify Your name, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Psalm 27:1 KJV — “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for being the light that guides my path and delivers me from darkness, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

2. O Lord, let Your light overshadow every area of my life that has been darkened by sin or ignorance, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

3. My Father, help me to abide daily in Your Word and presence, that my light of honour will never fade, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

4. Lord Jesus Christ, cause my life to shine brightly and draw many souls to Your kingdom, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
