REPLICATING MARY MAGDALENE’S LOVE FOR CHRIST (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: John 12:3 KJV – “Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.”

Mary’s act of anointing the Lord with her costly ointment was not an impulsive gesture; it was a deliberate expression of love born from revelation. She recognized the priceless worth of Jesus Christ, and in gratitude, she offered her most valuable possession. Her action filled the house with a fragrance that represented worship and devotion. Beloved, true love for Christ always leaves a fragrance—wherever it is expressed, it influences and inspires others. Every act of love toward Jesus leaves an eternal impact. MATTHEW 5:16

Many people follow Christ for what they can receive, but Mary’s love was about what she could give. She gave sacrificially, not seeking attention or approval. Her humility was seen when she wiped His feet with her hair, symbolizing total surrender and honor. Love that is genuine is selfless, it focuses not on self-gain but on Christ’s pleasure. If your love is real, it will be proven through what you are willing to surrender for His glory. MATTHEW 22:37

Beloved, the world may not understand your devotion, and some may even criticize your sacrifice, just as Judas did. Yet, Jesus receives every act of love offered from a pure heart. Never let anyone discourage your worship or your giving. Those who truly love Christ understand that nothing is too costly to lay at His feet. This is why I, Apostle Emmanuel Osezele, don’t look at people's faces when doing my father's work. Let your love today be a sweet fragrance of gratitude that fills your home, your ministry, and your life. 1 JOHN 3:18

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord Jesus Christ, help me to love You, not in words only but in sacrificial actions, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.

2. Heavenly Father, let my devotion be a sweet fragrance before You daily in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.

3. Holy Spirit, deliver me from self-centered love and fill my heart with pure worship toward Christ. In Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.
