PEACE PURCHASED BY CHRIST FOR YOU

KEY TEXT: Colossians 1:20 KJV: "And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven."

PEACE DISRUPTED THROUGH SIN: Since Adam sinned, there has not been a continual state of peace in the world. Death and the threat of death have flourished where God intended life. Before Adam''s transgression, there was no existence of war. But then Adam sinned, and mankind has not been at peace with God since. This lack of peace is the most difficult to endure. John 14:27

BRIDGE OF PEACE: The Blood of Jesus is the "Bridge of Peace" between God and lost humanity. Through His sacrifice, those who were once far off are made near by the blood of Christ, for He is our peace. He has broken down the middle wall of partition between us, reconciling both unto God, in one body by the cross (Ephesians 2:13-16). By making peace through the blood of His cross, Jesus reconciled all things unto Himself, whether they be things in earth or in heaven (Colossians 1:20). Now, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, being justified by faith. Romans 5:1

SPREAD PEACE: We are called to spread the good news of peace to others, showing them that they can attain this peace through faith in Jesus Christ. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), but we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood (Romans 3:24-25). Unconfessed sin destroys the joyful fellowship between a child of God and His Father, so we must run from sin, for it brings shame and hinders our relationship with God. Romans 3:23-25

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, as You have purchased our peace on the cross of Calvary, remove every spirit of instability and restlessness causing us to forget the peace that You died to restore to mankind. In Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.

REFLECTION: Isaiah 9:6 KJV: "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
