MIRROR THE LIGHT OF CHRIST

KEY TEXT: 1 John 1:7 KJV: “7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

LIGHT WITHIN

When we associate ourselves with the things of light—righteousness, goodness, good works, and charity—we as believers remind ourselves and show the world the light that is in us. When the light of Christ shines through us, it cannot be hidden; something that is shining will naturally draw attention and can never be concealed. Christ instructs us to let our light so shine that people see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

CALLED OUT OF DARKNESS

We once wandered in a dark world ruled by the prince of darkness, our body, soul, and spirit blinded by sin. Without Jesus, the grip of sin was too strong. But Christ triumphed over those powers, spoiled the works of darkness, and granted us victory. Now we command His light to shine around us daily, refusing an inkling of darkness. God has called us out of darkness, and just as He commanded light to shine, we continually declare light. John 1:5

SHINE FORTH

By aligning ourselves with God’s goodness, we reflect His light to a world that desperately needs it. Our good works and faith-fueled endeavors become a beacon for those still trapped in sin. Christ’s light within us is never meant to be hidden; it must shine boldly for all to see. Let us daily declare light over our lives, refusing even a hint of darkness, and watch as the power of God conquers every stronghold that once held us captive. Matthew 5:14–16

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, help me reflect the light of God so that the world will recognize and seek after the light of Christ. In Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.

2 Corinthians 4:6 KJV: “6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
