LEAVE THE ROPE ON THE WINDOW

KEY TEXT: Joshua 2:18 KJV – “Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home unto thee.”

Inspiration Image

Rahab’s act of faith was sealed with a scarlet rope tied on her window. That rope was not just a sign of promise—it was a symbol of faith, obedience, and covenant. It marked her house for mercy when judgment fell on Jericho. Likewise, every believer in Christ must keep the “rope” of faith and covenant visible in their lives. The scarlet line represents the blood of Jesus Christ—the covenant of redemption that separates the saved from the lost. Once you have accepted Christ, never doubt or break that covenant through disobedience or compromise.

Many start well but remove their rope when trials come—they abandon faith, neglect prayer, and return to the world. But Rahab never removed her rope; she kept believing until deliverance came. God expects His people to do the same—to hold on to His Word without wavering. The blood of Jesus is our safety mark; it must remain visible in our conduct, speech, and choices.

Beloved, leave the rope on the window. Keep your faith firm, your holiness intact, and your covenant unbroken. When destruction and judgment come upon the world, the Lord will see the mark of the covenant upon your life and preserve you and your household, just as He did for Rahab.

REFLECTION:

The scarlet rope on Rahab’s window was her covenant of salvation. Keep your covenant with Jesus visible—never doubt, never compromise, and never look back. The blood of Jesus that covers you is your life.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Heavenly Father, thank You for the covenant of mercy through the blood of Jesus. Help me to remain faithful and never remove my rope of faith and obedience, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

2. Lord Jesus, preserve me and my household under Your covering, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

3. In the name of Jesus Christ, I receive the grace to overcome every trial and temptation that come my way, holding firmly the shield of faith till the end, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
