LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT (PART 9)
KEY TEXT: Matthew 11:28 KJV: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

The beauty of the Christian race is that we are not called to carry our burdens alone. Christ has already provided rest for all who surrender to Him. Many believers struggle under heavy loads because they refuse to exchange their yoke for His. Jesus said, “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:30 KJV).
We often hold on to things God is asking us to drop, and this makes our journey difficult. Anxiety, fear, worry, and self-dependence are weights that steal our peace. The Lord calls us to cast all these upon Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).
To lay aside weights effectively, we must learn the discipline of surrender. Whenever we feel pressed down, we must run to Christ in prayer and release our burdens at His feet. His rest is available for all who will trust Him fully. 2 Corinthians 12:9
PRAYER:
Lord, I cast all my burdens upon You today; give me the grace to trust You completely, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
REFLECTION:
Psalm 55:22 KJV: “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, give me the grace to surrender every burden, anxiety, and worry at the feet of Jesus Christ, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen
2. Lord, deliver me from the weight of self-dependence; help me to rest completely in Your strength and not in my own, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen
3. Holy Spirit, teach me the discipline of casting my cares upon the Lord daily, and let me never carry what Christ has already carried for me, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
4. O Lord, let Your peace overshadow my heart; remove every heavy load assigned to weaken my faith, and give me the rest promised in Christ, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
