INWARD AND OUTWARD HOLINESS IS DEMANDED TO ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD (PART 3)
KEY TEXT: 2 Corinthians 7:1 (KJV) – “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

HOLINESS REQUIRES DELIBERATE SEPARATION: Holiness does not happen accidentally; it requires intentional separation from sin, worldliness, and every influence that defiles the heart and body. God calls His people to come out from among the world, not in isolation but in distinction. Separation is not pride but obedience, and it is necessary for anyone who desires to walk pleasingly before God (2 Corinthians 6:17; Romans 12:1).
HOLINESS IS PERFECTED THROUGH THE FEAR OF GOD: The fear of God is the atmosphere in which holiness grows. When believers lose the fear of God, compromise becomes normal. A healthy reverence for God guards both the inward life and outward conduct. The fear of the Lord restrains sin, preserves purity, and keeps the believer conscious of eternal accountability before God (Proverbs 8:13; Ecclesiastes 12:13–14).
HOLINESS PREPARES BELIEVERS FOR CHRIST’S RETURN:
Holiness is not only about present obedience but about eternal readiness. Christ is returning for a pure and spotless Church. Those who live carelessly, ignoring holiness, will be unprepared at His appearing. A holy life keeps the believer watchful, faithful, and confident, eagerly awaiting the coming Kingdom (1 Thessalonians 4:7; 1 John 3:2–3).
PRAYER:
Holy Father, I receive grace to separate myself from everything that defiles my flesh and spirit. Plant in me a deep fear of You, and help me to perfect holiness daily as I prepare for the return of Christ and entrance into Your Kingdom, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
REFLECTION:
1 Peter 1:15–16 (KJV) –
“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
N.B: Holiness is not optional—it is a divine calling.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, give me grace to separate from every influence, habit, and relationship that defiles my walk with You, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. (2 Corinthians 6:17; Psalm 1:1)
2. Lord, restore and deepen the fear of God in my heart, that I may hate sin and love righteousness, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. (Proverbs 8:13; Hebrews 1:9)
3. Holy Spirit, help me to cleanse myself daily from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. (2 Corinthians 7:1; Psalm 119:9)
