GOD’S JUDGMENT FOR KNOWN AND UNKNOWN SIN (PART 5)
KEY TEXT: James 4:17 (KJV): “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”

SINS OF OMISSION INVITE JUDGMENT:
Sin is not only what we do wrongly, but also what we fail to do rightly. Neglecting prayer, disobedience to divine instructions, refusal to forgive, and ignoring opportunities to do good are sins of omission that can attract judgment if unchecked. God expects believers to walk actively in obedience, not passively in neutrality.
Luke 12:47 (KJV): “And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself… shall be beaten with many stripes.”
SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY PREVENTS ERROR:
A sensitive spirit quickly responds to conviction and correction. When believers dull their conscience, sins—both known and unknown—multiply. Staying spiritually alert through prayer, the Word, and fellowship keeps the heart tender and receptive to God’s warnings.
Hebrews 3:15 (KJV): “To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts…”
OBEDIENCE ACTIVATES MERCY: God’s mercy is released and sustained through obedience. When a believer walks in prompt obedience, mercy speaks louder than judgment. Obedience positions the believer under divine covering and continual cleansing.
Deuteronomy 28:1 (KJV): “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God…”
PRAYER:
Merciful Father, deliver me from every sin of omission and spiritual carelessness. Restore my sensitivity to Your voice and empower me to walk in prompt obedience. Let mercy speak for me over judgment, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
REFLECTION:
Many believers fall not because of obvious sins, but because of neglected duties. Spiritual vigilance and obedience keep the believer aligned with God’s mercy and protected from judgment.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, forgive me for every good I knew to do but failed to do, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
2. O Lord, restore my spiritual sensitivity and deliver me from a hardened heart, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
3. Holy Spirit, empower me to obey promptly and completely, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
4. Father, let Your mercy prevail over judgment in my life as I walk in obedience, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
