GOD’S JUDGMENT FOR KNOWN AND UNKNOWN SIN (PART 4)

KEY TEXT: Ecclesiastes 12:14 (KJV) - “For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

GOD JUDGES SECRET THINGS: God’s judgment is thorough and inescapable. Nothing is hidden from His eyes—not even the things men overlook or excuse. Known sins and secret sins are equally exposed before Him. This truth calls believers to live consciously before God, knowing that every action, motive, and thought will one day be examined. Luke 12:2 - "For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.”

IGNORANCE DOES NOT CANCEL RESPONSIBILITY: Many assume they are innocent because they are unaware of certain sins, but ignorance does not remove accountability before God. Sin, whether committed knowingly or unknowingly, still requires mercy and cleansing. This is why believers must continually depend on God’s grace and light for correction and alignment. Leviticus 5:17 - "And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden… though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.”

THE FEAR OF GOD PRESERVES THE BELIEVER: A healthy fear of God keeps the heart sensitive and the conscience alive. It restrains believers from careless living and cultivates reverence, obedience, and humility. Those who walk in the fear of the Lord are preserved from falling into secret and presumptuous sins.

Proverbs 16:6 - "By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.”

PRAYER:

Righteous Father, I acknowledge that nothing is hidden from You. Deliver me from ignorance, secret sins, and careless living. Let the fear of the Lord guard my heart and preserve me from judgment. Keep me walking uprightly before You, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Living with the consciousness of God’s all-seeing eyes produces purity, humility, and spiritual discipline. When the fear of God rules the heart, secret sins lose their power, and righteousness prevails.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, help me to live daily with the consciousness that You see all things, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

2. O Lord, deliver me from ignorance that exposes me to judgment, and align my life with Your truth, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

3. Holy Spirit, cultivate in me a deep fear of God that preserves me from secret and presumptuous sins, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

4. Lord, let mercy triumph over judgment in my life as I walk uprightly before You, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
