GOD’S JUDGEMENT FOR KNOWN AND UKNOWN SIN
KEY TEXT: Psalms 19:12 KJV: “Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.”

WHAT IS KNOWN SIN: Known sin is the sin a person is aware of, sin they can see, remember, and recognize that they have committed. As Paul says in Hebrews 12:1, we must lay aside “the sin which doth so easily beset us”, often the very sins we already know are our weak points. These sins commonly show up as areas where you once promised yourself, “I will never do this again,” yet you fall back into them. Because they are known, they are also easier to confront: they are exposed through the Word of God as you read Scripture, and through the counsel and correction of the servants of God. Ezekiel 18:20
WHAT IS UKNOWN SIN:
Unknown sin, on the other hand, is a dangerous category of sin because a person cannot see it clearly in order to repent of it. It takes God’s help to expose it, and that is why we must specifically ask the Lord to reveal it and give us the upper hand. If someone repents of every known sin but leaves room for unknown sin, because it was never revealed and never addressed, they can still end up in hell fire. Unknown sin has captured the mighty: people who were close to God and thought all was well, until judgement exposed what was hidden. Psalm 119:130
TACKLE YOUR IGNORANCE: Therefore, tackle your ignorance, by the help of the Holy Spirit and by the holy and faithful Word of God. Ignorance is tackled as the Spirit of God leads you into truth and as Scripture brings light, correction, and understanding. Be careful not to become content with what you already know—only the sins you already recognize. Instead, always pray and ask God to save you from sins you do not yet see, and to cleanse you from hidden faults, so that your heavenly race will not be hindered. John 16:13
PRAYER:
O Lord, cleanse me from secret faults that I commit and know nothing of. Open my eyes to see and repent of them before it is too late, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.
REFLECTION:
Leviticus 4:2 KJV: “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Heavenly Father, I repent of every known sin in my life. By the Blood of Jesus, I lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets me. Wash me clean, restore my righteousness, and let me walk in holiness, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
2. O Lord, expose to me every hidden sin, secret fault, and unrighteousness I am unaware of. Let Your Spirit reveal all unknown sins in my life, and deliver me from them, that I may not fall under judgment, in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
3. Father, lead me by Your Holy Spirit into all truth. Illuminate my heart and mind with Your Word, correct me where I am wrong, and help me not to be content with only what I already know. Cleanse me from ignorance and make me fully obedient, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen
4. Lord, cover me with the Blood of Jesus. Protect me from the consequences of hidden faults and unknown sins. Let Your mercy prevail over judgment in my life, and position me to finish my heavenly race unashamed, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
