GODLY FRIENDSHIPS VERSUS UNGODLY FRIENDSHIPS

KEY TEXT: Proverbs 13:20 KJV: “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

ANANIAS & SAPPHIRA'S EXAMPLE:

Did you know that the company we keep significantly shapes our character and destiny? Surround yourself with believers who inspire you to pray more, and live godly. Ananias and Sapphira played an important role in how they ultimately ended up. Had one chosen to oppose the wickedness of the other, things could have changed for the better. Acts 5

DANIEL’S EXAMPLE:

Daniel and his friends exemplify the type of association a believer should strive for. Together, they refused to be defiled by the royal food of the king and were firm in their stance with their beliefs. Even in a place where all hope seemed lost, they were able to strengthen one another through godly associations. Daniel 1:8

SUM OF YOUR FRIENDS:

There is a saying that goes, “Show me your friends and I will show you who you are,” meaning that the patterns of your peers will ultimately be reflected in you and those you choose to associate with. Befriend those who love and fear God, and align yourself with those who embody the character you strive to have in Christ. Philippians 3:10

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, invite into my life godly friends that will influence me into the fear of God and will of God, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: 1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV: “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”
