FAMILY ORDERLINESS (PART 4)

KEY TEXT: Colossians 3:16 KJV – “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Every Christian family must understand that orderliness cannot be sustained without spiritual commitment. When the Word of God ceases to govern a home, disorder begins to take root. The first spiritual responsibility of every believer is to ensure that the Word of Christ dwells richly in their home. Family devotion, Bible study, and collective worship should never be neglected. These spiritual exercises keep the home under divine authority and shield it from satanic intrusion. 1 Samuel 25:6

Another major responsibility is consistent prayer and intercession. A praying family is a thriving family. Prayer builds a spiritual hedge around the home and keeps every member sensitive to God’s leading. Job continually prayed and offered sacrifices for his children (Job 1:5), thereby maintaining spiritual order and protection. When prayer becomes the heartbeat of a family, divine peace and power flow effortlessly. Isaiah 32:18

Every family member must live a life of forgiveness and love. No matter how prayerful or knowledgeable a home is, strife and bitterness can destroy divine order. Forgiveness invites God’s presence, while unforgiveness drives it away. The Scripture says, “And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8 KJV). A family walking in love cannot be easily broken.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord Jesus Christ, let Your Word continually rule and guide my family, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

2. Heavenly Father, make our home a house of prayer and divine presence, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

3. Holy Spirit, help us to live in love and forgiveness that we may maintain divine order, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Joshua 1:8 KJV – “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night… for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
