DOES GOD RECOGNIZE YOU?

KEY TEXT: Matthew 7:22-23 KJV: “22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

BLESSINGS NOT AN INDICATOR

Blessings do not equate to God’s recognition of you. What truly dictates God’s acceptance is a life of holiness and righteousness. God can bless you even when sin exists in your life. Things may appear rosy around you, but God Himself may still be displeased. He can give you immense riches for His name’s sake, but at the end, you may find Him testifying, “I never knew you.” MATTHEW 7:23

SPIRITUAL GIFTS NOT AN INDICATOR

Do you realize that performing signs and wonders with the power of God does not necessarily mean you know Him? Even if you have the gift of prophecy, hear God’s voice directly, or speak in all tongues, you can still be far from the relationship God desires to have with you. True connection with God goes beyond spiritual gifts, it requires a heart fully submitted to Him. JAMES 4:8

DEEP RELATIONSHIP AN INDICATOR

Knowing God is a gradual and intentional process that requires daily communion, and careful cultivation. It is like sharing a close relationship with a dear friend, not forced or rushed but built over time. God calls us to draw near to Him, promising that He will draw near to us in return. Do not merely seek the gifts of the Giver, but seek the Giver Himself. God is infinitely greater than any earthly or spiritual gift. Are you recognized by God? JOHN 15:4

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, empower me to cultivate a daily and intimate relationship with You. Help me to habitually commune with You every day. In Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.
