DEEPER WALK WITH GOD (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: GENESIS 6:9 KJV: “These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.”

Deeper walk is a journey in which we strive to become more like Jesus Christ through sanctification. It is a God-designed process that produces holiness in a believer. The fundamental response to following Jesus should be leaving behind our selfish past and living in Christ’s example and instructions daily (Romans 12:1, Galatians 2:20). We must try to honor God in every area of our lives; every action, motive, and thought. 2 CORINTHIANS 10:5

Whatever specific role God may call you to fulfil in His service, the primary call is to walk deeply with Him. Essentially that means developing a relationship with Him. So, while you may be struggling with confusion or uncertainty about your particular assignment of your calling, do not forget that God has already given to you about walking with Him (Micah 6:8). Walking with God is ordinary down to earth. Something we only have to do one step at a time. What happens when you walk with someone? You have to be in agreement to walk together. AMOS 3:3

If we walk with God, we are choosing not to walk our way, but in obedience to God’s direction (Jeremiah 10:23). Walking with God involves having a conversation with Him and listening to Him and obeying His command. It puts us in a place where we start to see things from God’s perspective. It is living in the presence of God. It may sometimes be a walk through storms, difficulty, and challenges. Jesus made it very clear that obeying the call to follow Him does not lead to an easy life, but it is the path to true joy and peace. 2 SAMUEL 22:22

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, guide me on my journey with You. Help me navigate life's challenges and make decisions that honor You. Help me obey Your commands and follow Your leading. Give me the strength and courage to stand firm in my faith, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

ISAIAH 55:9 KJV: “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
