Treachery, often manifested as betrayal, deceit, or faithlessness, is a grievous sin that disrupts trust and harmony in relationships. The Bible warns us of its dangers, showing that it is contrary to the nature of God, who is faithful in all His ways. "A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person" (PSALMS 101:4)

In the Word of God, we see treachery personified in the actions of individuals like Judas Iscariot, who betrayed our Lord Jesus Christ for thirty pieces of silver. His act of disloyalty highlights the depths of human greed and the consequences of betraying the Son of God. "And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them" (MARK 14:10).

Treachery begins in the heart, often as a seed of envy, pride, or selfish ambition, which then blossoms into destructive actions. The scriptures caution us against such seeds of sin, calling us to guard our hearts diligently. "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life" (PROVERBS 4:23).

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, let not the spirit of betrayal be found in me. Deliver me if it's already in me in any form, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: PROVERBS 19:5 - "A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape."
