ARE YOU IGNORING SIN IN YOUR LIFE?

KEY TEXT: Psalm 19:12 KJV: “Who can understand his errors? Cleanse thou me from secret faults.”

IGNORANCE DEFINED: Ignorance of sin is when one is committing sin but is unaware of it. Simply trusting in your current understanding of the sins you think you are not committing, while ignoring the multitude of sins you might be committing, is a key reason many Christians tragically find themselves in hell when it is too late. This is why ignorance is deadly. When one commits a sin they are aware of, they can identify and address it. However, the sins that remain unknown are like cancer—a silent killer of the soul.  Psalm 19:12

SIN IS IDENTIFIED: You might ask, "Who then can be saved? How can one know all sins to escape them?" God has given us the rule book, the strategy, and the plan to calibrate our spiritual compass and sensitivity to sin. This comes through the Holy Spirit, coupled with the Word of God. It begins with the Spirit, who will then lead you into all truth. The Spirit reveals truth, and the truth you must seek is contained in the unchanging and unchangeable Word of God. John 4:24

THE CALL TO CRY OUT: There is no doubt that we have all sinned against God, both knowingly and unknowingly. However, we must proactively seek God''s guidance to reveal the errors of our ways. Why not cry out to the Lord today as David did: "Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:23-24

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, reveal to me every error of my ways, and help me to reveal and remove every known and unknown sin before it is too late, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

REFLECTION: Proverbs 19:2 KJV: “Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.”
