ANSWER CHRIST’S CALL

KEY TEXT: Luke 10:16 KJV: “He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.”

CHRIST’S CALL: Christ calls us into His sheepfold, drawing us to Himself and inviting us to hear the good news. When He walked the earth, His call was physical and direct—just as He called Matthew, who was sitting at a tax booth, and said, “Follow Me.” We see in Scripture how Matthew immediately left everything and followed Jesus. That same call is still alive today through the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 9:9)

THE MEDIUMS OF CHRIST’S CALL: Now, Christ calls us through different means and platforms. He speaks through His Word, which convicts, teaches, and directs us in the way we should go. He also uses His people in the church as vessels of His voice. Whenever you hear the Word of God being preached or read, it is Christ Himself speaking. The same divine call of God continues—only the medium has changed—but it still demands obedience, surrender, and consecration to God. (Luke 10:16)

RESPONSE OF THE CALL: Coming to Jesus Christ is not merely about admiration or respect. When Christ called the rich young ruler, the man claimed to have done all things right, yet he could not obey the full call of Jesus. His riches became a barrier, and he walked away sorrowful. This shows that the call of Christ is not just to admire Him—it is a call to follow Him fully. Make that stand today: answer His call, and follow where He leads. (Matthew 19:16–22)

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus Christ, help me not to reject your call and I receive the grace to heed your voice and call by whoever or however it may come to me, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

James 1:22 KJV: “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, give me a sensitive heart to hear and recognize the voice of Christ whenever He calls me, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

2. O Lord, remove every distraction, fear, or attachment that hinders me from fully responding to Your call, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

3. Lord Jesus, help me to obey Your Word promptly and wholeheartedly, and never to reject Your instructions, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

4. Father, use me as a vessel to echo the call of Christ to others, and let my life draw many to Your kingdom, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
